How to Find Your Recommended Tire Pressure in San Diego, CA

Whether you’re trying to find the right Acura RDX tire pressure or the correct amount for another Acura model, you can consult your owner’s manual. For most Acura vehicles, the recommended tire pressure amount is anywhere from 32-35 PSI (pounds per square inch). If you can’t locate your Acura vehicle’s owner’s manual, then you can consult the sticker that should be located on your vehicle’s driver’s door frame.

How to Properly Fill Your Acura Tires With Air in San Diego, CA

If you notice that one of your tires is low on air, then pull over to the nearest stop near National City, and perform the following:

  1. Locate the underfilled tire. Your tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) should tell you which tire is low.
  2. Remove the small cap on the tire by untwisting it.
  3. Plug in a tire gauge into the tire to check the current gauge.
  4. Use an air hose at a gas station or stop to fill up your tire to the appropriate amount.
  5. Put the cap back on the tire.

If you can’t get to a gas station or other location, then you can use a portable air compressor to fill up your Acura vehicle’s tires. Here’s how:

  1. Pull over on level ground.
  2. Plug in your air compressor into the cigarette port on your Acura.
  3. Turn on your car and let it idle.
  4. Locate the underinflated tire, and remove the cap.
  5. Insert the air hose of your compressor into the tire, and fill the tire to the appropriate amount of pressure.
  6. Once you are finished, remove the air hose and put the cap back on the tire.

If you don’t have a tire gauge to check your Acura MDX tire pressure or an air compressor to refill your tires, then you can shop for those and other parts at our parts store online.

How to Turn off the Tire Pressure Light in San Diego, CA

Sometimes, even after you’ve gotten your Acura RDX tire pressure to the correct amount, you may still see the tire pressure light flash on your dashboard while driving through Carlsbad. This is perfectly normal, and the solution to resetting this light is simple. Here’s how to turn off the tire pressure light on your Acura:

  1. Drive above 50 mph for at least 10 minutes. The next time you turn on your vehicle, the light should be reset.
  2. If the method above didn’t work, then turn the key to the “on” position, but don’t start the vehicle. Hold the TPMS reset button until the light blinks three times, and then release the button. Drive the car for 20 minutes, and the system should then be reset.
  3. Inflate all of the tires to over 3 PSI over the recommended tire pressure amount. Then, deflate all of the tires before filling them back to the correct amount.
  4. With the vehicle off, disconnect the positive battery terminal. Press the horn for at least three seconds. Then, reconnect the battery.

If none of the above methods work, then schedule a visit to our service center in San Diego to have our expert technicians reset the light for you.
